ICD.D, Board Member
Lifelong politician and Harvard grad with an entrepreneurial mindset, and a taste for adventure.
Ken’s memoirs would be inspiring reading, even for the most accomplished of individuals. From his start stacking bales in Longview, Alberta, all the way to the Legislature of Alberta’s Energy Minister, and Municipal Affairs Minister — Ken’s life is a testament to grit and determination. He started with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Alberta, and a Masters of Public Administration from Harvard. From there Ken served in public life in three challenging and accomplished roles. As a Member of Parliament, the founding Chair of Alberta Health Services, and finally, as Energy Minister and Municipal Affairs Minister, for the Legislature of Alberta. As if that weren’t enough he also founded Alpine Insurance, a brokerage which serves over 35,000 clients in Alberta. Currently, he’s serving on multiple boards in the public, not-for-profit and private sectors, and is a certified member of the Institute of Corporate Directors. When he’s not sporting a pair of smartly polished oxfords, you can find his feet laced up tight in a pair of hiking or cross country ski boots, undertaking some sort of grand expedition with his family, highlights include Mt. Kilimanjaro, Mt. Kailash, and multiple cross-country ski races.
